I am an Arts Integration Specialist hoping to share my passion of integrating the common core standards with the arts standards. I inspire to create lessons, units and curriculum that is engaging, empowering and supportive to students and teachers alike.

I began my career as a performer and an artist. I became a teaching artist, then a special education teacher and finally an arts integration teacher. I have seen education through multiple lenses and have seen the power of the arts first hand.

 

As an Arts Integration Specialist I am committed to bringing engaging lessons, a safe place for everyone to take risks and student growth in both content and arts areas. I will use my varied perspectives to build a program that teachers, students, administration and the community can all be involved in and proud of. We will build a program that supports learning, growth, engagement, application and deep reflection on our learning. I will guide teachers by listening to their challenges, their worries, their questions and will support those teachers to use arts integration as an approach they feel confident using in their classroom.  Teachers will feel supported during the entire planning, teaching and reflection process and will be excited to use this new approach in their teaching. As teachers are feeling confident and excited about this new approach, students will feel engaged, creative, joyful and in charge of their learning.
